Info | Robert Ray "Rob" Steele Jr.
Rob Steele reside in Lapel with his six school age children, and have lived in various Madison County communities over the past eighteen years. Rob, a sixth generation Hoosier, was raised in Indianapolis, and he has three sisters who reside in Central Indiana with their families.
Rob met his wife Linda at Purdue while obtaining their Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering Technology. They were married while in their junior year, and they began working at the former Delco Remy Division of General Motors in Anderson. Following the birth of their third child, Linda elected to stay home to raise their children, but she is currently substitute teaching on a part-time basis. Rob also holds masters degrees in Business Administration from Purdue University and Manufacturing Management from Kettering University. Rob, 39, is employed by EDS as a senior engineer in Fishers.
Rob has been active in local politics and community organizations for many years. Rob is Vice-President of the Lapel Town Council. He is also on the Lapel planning commission, a reserve police officer, Frankton-Lapel Community Schools Technology committee, and Purdue Industrial Advisory Board. He is also an adjunct professor of electrical engineering technology at Purdue's Statewide Technology campus in Anderson and a licensed substitute teacher in the State of Indiana. Past activities include "Just Say NO!" board, Independent Federal Credit Union Supervisory Committee, United Way volunteer and church treasurer. Rob and his family are active members of Faith Church Assembly of God in Anderson.
District 37 for the Indiana House of Representatives encompasses the southern portion of Madison County, and it includes the communities of south central Anderson, Chesterfield, Pendleton, Edgewood, Lapel, Ingalls and Markleville.
