Info | Terri Austin was born and raised in Elwood, Indiana and is a lifelong resident of Madison County. Terri earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Ball State University, and an Educational Administration and Supervision degree from Butler University.
Terri serves as Vice Chair of the House Commerce and Economic Development Committee. She also is a member of three other committees: Ways and Means; Public Policy, Ethics and Veterans Affairs; and Technology, Research and Development.
She has over 20 years of experience in education as a classroom teacher and district administrator. She has served as a national consultant for the U.S. Department of Education in the area of technology, professional development and school reform and has been invited to appear at many state and national conferences.
In addition to her legislative responsibilities, Terri currently is the director of Madison County Community Alliances to Promote Education (CAPE), a county-wide partnership involving all school corporations in Madison County, Anderson University, the Madison County Community Foundation, and the Leadership Academy of Madison County.
She is a member of the Anderson Rotary Club, the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce, League of Women Voters, American Association of University Women, United Way of Madison County and Ball State Teacher's College Alumni Board.
Terri is married to Anderson attorney, Michael Austin, and they are the parents of two sons. She attends Trinity Episcopal Church in Anderson.
