During the last seven years, unit chief for both Career Criminal Prosecutions and Violent Crimes, responsible for targeting violent and serious, repeat offenders. Successfully prosecuted at trial nearly 20 murder cases, including serial murderers, and obtained convictions for the only two criminals sentenced in South Carolina under the former “three strikes and you’re out” statute, mandating life imprisonment without parole for those convicted for a third violent crime. Handled approximately 6,000 criminal cases during those twelve years. 90% conviction rate at trial.

1994-present, Criminal Justice instructor and head of the Criminal Justice department, Greenville Technical College. Since becoming department head in 2000, the number of students enrolled as Criminal Justice majors has almost doubled from about 160 to nearly 300. Instrumental in creation of Forensics certificate, along with the creation of five new courses. Founded Distance Learning for Criminal Justice, both online and via videotape.
Instrumental in collaborating with Greenville County in the establishment of Forensic Vehicle Processing Facility and in obtaining Justice Department grant for a DNA laboratory, both on the Greenville Tech campus
