Info | Robert D. "Robby" Robbins is of counsel to the firm who practices in Charleston in the area of civil and criminal defense litigation. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the Dorchester County Bar and the Orangeburg County Bar associations.
Prior to joining Nelson Mullins, Mr. Robbins was appointed Solicitor of the First Judicial Circuit by Governor Mark Sanford in 2004. He was also Chief Deputy Solicitor of the First Judicial Circuit from September 2001 until December of 2003, and was the Deputy Solicitor of Dorchester County from 1997 until 2001.
Mr. Robbins is a member of the Summerville Kiwanis Club, the Oakbrook Rotary Club, and is the current president of the Summerville Exchange Club. He has recently been appointed to the Dorchester County Transportation Authority and has been named to the Dorchester County Public Defender Corporation. He is also a current member Tri-County Regional Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and a board member of the Lourie Theater in St. George. Mr. Robbins is a former First Circuit Representative to the South Carolina Young Lawyers Division and was named Outstanding Young American for Community Service by the South Carolina Jaycees in 1996.
In 1987, Mr. Robbins earned a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. In 1984, Mr. Robbins earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina.
