Info | Born and reared in the mountains of Northeast Georgia, Carol Jackson has spent her life working alongside the people of the 50th Senate District. As a child, Carol grew up in a community of caring individuals that instilled in her the beliefs and values that she has held on to throughout her professional career. It was in this area where Carol received her formal education from White County High School in Cleveland, Truett-McConnell College also in Cleveland, North Georgia College in Dahlonega, and the University of Georgia Continuing Judicial Education. The mountains are where she met her late-husband, Glen, and where their children, Andrea and Charles, were reared. Carol Jackson has spent her life in the mountains of Northeast Georgia dedicating herself to serving the people of the area as both a public servant and a private business owner.
Carol Jackson began her service to the public in 1984, when the citizens of White County first elected her to the office of Clerk of the Superior Court. Carol served as Clerk of the Superior Court for fourteen-years, running unopposed after her initial election. Senator Jackson resigned as Clerk of Court in 1998 to run for State Senate 50th District. She was elected to that position where she served three-terms until she was gerrymandered out of her district making it impossible for her for reelection to the 50th District in 2004. Because of her love for the people of the district, Carol has moved to Demorest (Habersham County) making her once again eligible for run for election in her beloved Northeast Georgia.
