InfoA lifelong Philadelphia resident, Seth Williams knows first-hand the problems facing our city, and has the vision and strength of character to solve them.

As a veteran prosecutor and supervisor in the District Attorney's Office, Seth knows the programs that work and the policies that are failing us. In over a decade he prosecuted more than a thousand trials and served as the Assistant Chief of the Municipal Court Unit, experience he used to create the highly successful Repeat Offenders Unit, which he ran for two-and-a-half years. Seth left the DA's Office in 2003, discouraged by a management style that stifles innovation and frustrates morale.

Growing up in the Cobbs Creek section of the city, Seth attended Friends' Central and graduated from Central High in 1985. Elected President of the Student Government and the Black Caucus at Penn State University, He graduated in 1989. He was awarded his law degree, with distinction as a Public Interest Law Scholar, at the Georgetown University Law Center.

He has seen up-close the changes that have taken hold of our neighborhoods, and feels a strong obligation to give back to the community. He is currently President of the Overbrook Park Civic Association, where he lives with his wife Sonita and three beautiful daughters.

Seth holds the rank of Captain in the United States Army Reserves, Judge Advocate General Corps. As a member of the military's law firm, his responsibilities include ensuring the ethics and accountability of our armed forces serving overseas, qualities he is determined to restore in Philadelphia's justice system.
