| Info | Barry Honig has a broad base of experience derived from his professional and personal life. As an entrepreneur, he understands the concerns of small business owners, the need to generate revenue, to manage costs and to meet a payroll. As a corporate executive, he has set strategy and executed plans to meet the stated goals of global organizations. As a result of his professional experiences, Barry has honed the skills of negotiating to achieve results, without losing sight of the big picture. As a husband and father of three children, Barry has learned on a daily basis the need to impart the strong values of family, faith, and personal responsibility. Through his active roles in community organizations, he has demonstrated his dedication to service for others.
Barry is president of Honig International, an executive search and management consulting firm, specializing in the financial services industry. He brings a unique blend of skills to executive recruitment and information technology consulting. He has extensive experience in actively trading and in managing the risk of large currency and commodity derivative portfolios. He has managed the development of global market and credit risk management systems for foreign exchange, commodities, equities and fixed income derivatives.
Barry has held significant positions within the financial services industry, including Principal of risk management information technology at Morgan Stanley; Vice President and Manager of systematic proprietary trading at First National Bank of Chicago; Vice President of foreign exchange at Banker’s Trust; and Vice President of advanced quantitative research at the Millburn Corporation.
Barry received his Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and completed postgraduate work in computer science at the Columbia University School of Engineering. He has also been an Adjunct Professor of Finance at New York University, lecturing on derivative risk management. He was the first visually disabled person to attend and graduate from the world-renowned Bronx High School of Science.
Barry is an active member of the Board of Governors of the Republican Jewish Coalition, a member of the New Jersey Republican State Committee Chairman’s Cabinet; and was the Bergen County Chairman of the Bush-Cheney 2004 Campaign. He also served as a member of the National Board of Directors of “Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic (RFBD).” He is very active in his local synagogue; he directs the Tenafly Chabad’s “Free Loan Association”; he is a member of the Board of Directors of the JCC on the Palisades, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Yeshivat Noam. He is also the NJ Legislative District 37 Republican Chairman.
