InfoKerry McCarthy, Senior Fiscal Policy Adviser, joined The Waterfront Partnership in May 2004. She is a qualified lawyer, with seven years experience of working in the banking and finance field, most recently as Senior Counsel at Merrill Lynch Europe plc. She previously worked in the Treasury department of a UK bank and for a City law firm, which specialised in banking, insolvency, asset leasing (shipping and aviation) and structured finance work.

Kerry is a member of the Labour Party and was employed at the Party's Millbank headquarters - as the Party's legal adviser - during the 2001 General Election campaign. She has served on Labour's National Policy Forum and its Economic Policy Commission for the past six years, and is also Vice Chair of the Labour Party's Regional Board in the East of England.

Kerry also served five years as an elected councillor on Luton Borough Council and was for four years (1999-2003) a director of London Luton Airport Ltd, overseeing the concession agreement between the local authority airport owner and the private sector airport operating company.
