InfoJohn is a local man and he knows this constituency like the back of his hand. His father farms in Berwickshire, his mother teaches in Gala and one of his brothers runs a straw haulage company in the Borders.

Over the last 12 months, John has been campaigning hard on the issues which really matter to people living in the Borders. This makes him well placed to be an effective Member of Parliament for Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk.

John became involved in politics ten years ago at university. John has a track record of community campaigning – he has been chairman of his local community council, a school governor and a member of the local Library's Friends Group.

John is particularly concerned that so many young people are disillusioned with politicians and believes that he can bring new life to the political stage by re-engaging with young people and voters generally.
