She works with both spiritual and material matter. Poochie studied the techniques of Daskalos, Strvolas, Cyprus, instructs and works with The Course in Miracles and Abundance workshops. She has written books, traveled extensively, earned one-man shows and national awards for her art. Poochie is part owner of an art gallery and her paintings and fiber art are in private collections in many countries.

I know that the job of Secretary of State needs a person who is organized, intelligent, considerate of the staff, and who loves people. This is not a go out and talk about the issues type of office. The Secretary of State works with people starting businesses, people who need help, people who need information about the state government. Right now it is a well run office, but it is that because the present Secretary of State has troubleshooted problems, stayed behind the staff, paid attention to the details of recording the business of the state.

SPECIAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND AWARDS
Poochie has over 40 years of working with the public. She has lectured and taught many workshops in the United States and Europe. The last 10 years, Poochie has concentrated on her spiritual development and helping others find their true power and bliss. She has organized festivals, helped with charity drives, developed the ways for economic development in rural areas.
Poochie has been instrumental in starting several corporations, organizing the offices and staff, developing the marketing and financing. In the 70's, as a contractor of remodeling small apartment buildings, she was a forerunner for the woman's movement. She hired women carpenters, women laborers when it was not fashionable. If they were good at their job she gave them work.
Poochie Myers has received many awards for her art, both painting and needlepoint as well as awards of excellence for knitting designs and paintings. She has taught many people to look inward, there to find their completeness and creativity in art as well as life. Poochie is part owner of Guild Hall Gallery, a cooperative gallery in Key West, Florida. This gallery holds up to 30 artists at a time, all working together, creating and selling their art. Guild Hall has existed for over 20 years and Poochie participated in it from the beginning. Poochie and one of her partners, Ann Irvine, were a major force in the creation of the now famous Key West Fantasy Fest, a festival originally designed to brings more tourists to Key West earlier in the season. Now the Fantasy Fest has grown beyond all dreams.
Poochie and her husband, Bob, share many opinions and have been successfully working together for over 18 years. They believe that life should be fun and is whatever you want to make of it. Their hobbies includes all movies, traveling, reading, computers, people, and especially their dogs.
