Info | Thérèse was born in 1971 near Wigan and grew up in Liverpool. Thérèse's mother grew up in Wrexham and so, Thérèse visited the town many many times and even learned to ride her bicycle one Christmas in Gatefield, Hightown.
Thérèse went to school in Liverpool and North Wales, then studied Chemistry at university. After finishing her PhD, Thérèse started work for Mars in 1997 and has worked for them since.
Thérèse has been active in her community wherever she lived, as a school governor, as a town councillor and deputy Mayor, as a reader at Church and through her local campaigning.
To relax, Thérèse is learning to play the guitar, follows Liverpool FC and enjoys watching rugby. She enjoys going to the theatre, but one of her true passions is listening to live music and going to pop concerts.
Thérèse's most recent political campaign was as a candidate for the European Parliament in June 2004. In that campaign, Thérèse fought to secure a referendum on the European Constitution, which the Government eventually granted to the people of the UK. Thérèse also made business needs a key priority for the European campaign – not only visiting local businesses from fisheries to farmers to widget producers.
Finally, Thérèse gained valuable insights into the workings of the European bureaucracy and supported the call for reform, especially those cited by Maarta Andraeesen – the most public victim of the reaction against responsible European civil servants trying to lead reform
Thérèse is passionate about keeping the close links of Wrexham with the Royal Welch Fusiliers. Her grandfather was born in Cambridgeshire but joined the Royal Welch due to the regiment's high reputation, earned over the last three hundred years. The betrayal of the Labour Government of the soldiers current and past is shocking and Thérèse will be fighting to stop the changes proposed.
