Became blind when he lost both eyes in an accident with a pair scissors as a boy. He was the only totally blind baseball coach in Little League history. Killed in an automobile accident, when the car in which he was a passenger went off a bridge in heavy rain, near Geraldine, Marshall County, Ala., August 27, 2000. Interment at Asbury Methodist Church Cemetery, Near Albertville, Marshall County, Ala.
