InfoMy name is Justin Horner and I am running to represent you on the Oakland City Council. Your current Councilmember resigned and there will be a Special Election, by mail, to replace him. Ballots will be mailed out starting Monday, April 18th and will be due back to the City on Tuesday, May 17th. I hope you will give me the opportunity to earn your support.

I am running for City Council because I love Oakland and it is where I want to raise my family. Oakland has a strong spirit and Oaklanders are amazingly active. From volunteering to clean up neighborhoods to speaking before the City Council, our neighborhoods are unique because of the strong community commitment we all have.

For our neighborhoods to continue to improve, we need to focus on strengthening our schools, creating good jobs and keeping our streets safe. We need to encourage investment and development that is good for our city, for our economy and for the environment.

We are all taxpayers and deserve what we pay for. City services must be delivered in a timely, thorough and courteous fashion—regardless of what neighborhood we live in.

After years of working as Chief of Staff to North Oakland’s Councilmember, I want to bring the same high level of responsive government and conscientious leadership to my own community.

I hope you will join me in making our Council District the best it can be.
