Info | TROUTMAN, William Irvin, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Shamokin, Northumberland County, Pa., January 13, 1905; attended the public schools; was graduated from Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, Pa., in 1927, and from the University of Pennsylvania Law School at Philadelphia in 1930; was admitted to the bar in 1930 and commenced practice in Shamokin; special attorney for Pennsylvania 1939-1943; elected as a Republican to the Seventy-eighth Congress and served from January 3, 1943, until his resignation on January 2, 1945; did not seek renomination in 1944 to the Seventy-ninth Congress; member of the Pennsylvania State senate in 1945; elected judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Northumberland County, Pa., for a ten-year term and assumed his duties on January 7, 1946; reelected in November 1955 for term ending January 1966; was not a candidate for reelection; became a senior judge, and served in the Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia, Pa., died in Shamokin, Pa., January 27, 1971; interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
