InfoCharlie Condon was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, where he graduated from Bishop England High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in 1975 and a law degree from Duke University School of Law in 1978.

Starting his career in public service at the age of 27, Charlie Condon was elected in 1980 the Solicitor for the Ninth Judicial Circuit, becoming at the time the youngest solicitor ever elected in South Carolina. As Solicitor, Charlie

Condon implemented many effective programs to make South Carolina safer, including a career criminal prosecution program, one of the states first victim witness assistance programs, a drug strike force program, and a child sexual abuse prosecution program, among others.

In 1994 Charlie Condon successfully ran for Attorney General of South Carolina, becoming the first Republican Attorney General elected in the state since Reconstruction. Serving as Attorney General until January 2003, he led such diverse initiatives as: implementing a youth mentor program through local churches to combat juvenile crime, abolishing parole for violent criminals, starting programs to combat domestic violence and sexual assault, banning plea bargaining for violent offenders, and banning illegal immigrants from being issued state ID cards. As a result of Charlies initiatives, South Carolina saw reductions in violent crime seven years in a row.

Currently, Charlie Condon is a candidate for the United States Senate, where he plans on further serving his state and country. Additionally, Charlie Condon is presently serving as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Palmetto Surety Corporation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. He is married to Emily Condon, a family practice physician, and together they are raising their four children
