InfoEsthelda R.Parker-Selby, fondly known as "Stell" by friends and family, is the daughter of V.Ramona Parker and the late Denver B. Parker. She has a brother, Gayelon D. Parker, and two sons, Myron D.P.Selby and Nashon R.P. Selby. Esthelda is the grandmother of six beautiful grandchildren.

Esthelda was born in Milford, DE and raised in Lewes and Milton, DE. She is not secretive about being from the baby boomer generation. All of her early and later living has been in the Milton, Lewes, and Rehoboth areas. Esthelda attended elementary school, grades 1-6 in Milton School #196C in a time when the C stood for 'Colored'. Grades 7-12 were completed at the William C. Jason Comprehensive High School in Georgetown, DE (now the DTCC/Owens Campus Jason Building). She received her BA in Sociology at Delaware State College/University with a minor in Education. Later, Esthelda completed her Masters at the University Of Delaware. Esthelda is affiliated with two churches that she calls home having been raised in both. They are St. Georges�s African Methodist Episcopal in Lewes, DE and Bethel AME in Milton, DE.

In 1970, Esthelda was hired as a full time teacher in the Cape Henlopen School District. She has taught grades K-12 and has been an assistant principal and principal in Rehoboth Elementary, West Dover Elementary (Booker T.) and Cape Henlopen High School. She has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Delaware State University. Presently, Esthelda is the Supervisor of Instructional Support and Community Relations, which deals with personnel and other issues in the district.

Esthelda is a very active community person and has been involved in numerous organizations, committees and activities. Some of her involvements have been and still include, memberships in Phi Delta Kappa, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, and the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. A member of the National Association of Black School Educators, Delaware Association of School Administrators, Board of Directors of Beebe Medical Center. Past Board Member and Chairperson of the Sussex YMCA. Past Board Member of the Rehoboth Art League and Chairperson of the 1996 Rehoboth Art League Cottage Tour.

Esthelda recently completed her term on the Delaware Principal Academy Board and recently completed her term as President of the Delaware State University National Alumni Association on May 18, 2002. Esthelda has served on the Diversity Recruitment Committee and the Kent and Sussex Symphony Committee, Delaware Law Education Committee, Association for Supervision of Curriculum and Development, Delaware Administrator Standards Committee. She was appointed by former-Governor Pierre S. du Pont to the first Delaware State Testing Committee. By invitation of Senator William V. Roth, she represented Delaware in March of 1999 at the US Joint Finance Committee Hearing speaking on the topic of 'Saving for Education Through Tax Sheltered Plans'.
Esthelda has received numerous awards, honors and recognitions. Some include the YMCA Black Achiever Award (1999), the Sussex County Dr. Martin Luther King Award, Delaware Principal Academy Service Award, University Presidents� Award and more�
