Dwight Willard Burney was a Nebraska Republican politician best known for being the 33rd Governor of Nebraska.
Burney was elected a member of the Nebraska Unicameral in 1945 and won reelection until 1957 when he became Lieutenant Governor of Nebraska. He became governor of Nebraska after Ralph G. Brooks died in office on September 9, 1960. He was governor of Nebraska until the election of Frank B. Morrison in 1960, and retook the position of Lieutenant Governor until 1965. He was a freemason. He died in 1987 in Hartington, Nebraska.
