**************************

Sen. Marilyn Jarrett, District 19, born 66 years ago, was united Friday with her Savior and her family and friends who took the journey before her to our eternal home. A soft-spoken lady with unbending principles, Marilyn was a friend to everyone who knew her. She was an unstinting advocate for the principles espoused by the Reagan Republican Platform and a beacon of truth for all who were fortunate to know and love her.

Marilyn was a role model that all elected officials would be wise to emulate. Her ability to disagree with you on issues without being disagreeable, combative, or pursuing personal attacks was a keystone of her legislative career. A tireless crusader for the values of our Founding Fathers, Marilyn never sacrificed moral or ethical values for either personal gain or political expediency.

As we pray for Sen. Jarrett's family, we also remember her legislative family, the legislators, staff members and lobbyists who have known and worked with Marilyn over the years. We also ask for prayer for the Precinct Committeemen and Supervisors as they go through the processes necessary to fill the vacancy created by her untimely death. We pray that all involved will seek His divine guidance in the decisions that will be made next week.

Marilyn and I shared a passion for Arizona and its Citizens and I will miss her as a mentor and friend.

The State of Arizona, especially the Legislature, will miss her leadership and her charm.
