InfoI was born in Canton, Illinois which is about 25 miles from the town of Peoria on the Illinois river. As a kid I was a snotty little brat who just about drove my teachers nuts. Fortunately for them I moved with my family to Phoenix, Arizona where I would grow up in the West. As a teenager I liked hotrods, girls, and cruising Central Avenue. Who didn't? I attended Phoenix Christian High School but dropped out in my junior year. I later got a GED diploma and an AA from Mt San Jacinto College in 1972. I now have a doctorate from the U of HK (University Of Hard Knocks). You may think this humorous but I believe learning through experience is the best education one can get. This also has aided me in creating my views regarding education. Schools of the future will not look anything like the ones we have a t the present time. ||| EDUCATION |||

After graduation I ran unsuccessfully for the College Board of Trustees. A group of us started the alumni association at MSJC in 1984. My primary business interests have been in publishing and buying rental property. I started a monthly magazine in 1973, a weekly shopper in 1976, and an international news syndicate in 1977. I am a past member of Sigma Delta Chi, The Society of Professional Journalists. I worked for CBS owned channel 2, then called KNXT, in Los Angeles in the early 60's. I have owned my own businesses in The San Jacinto Valley since 1972.

I retired from publishing in 1991 and managed a few pieces of rental property I had been able to aquire with some of the proceeds from the sale of my publications. I have no further interest in buying or developing more real estate. An experience while going to college of having a hard time renting an apartment led me to a buy rentals and rent them to low income families, singles, and people with pets. Even though this led to higher incidence of collection problems and more evictions I have maintained this focus.

I have little savings and all of the money from my rentals goes back into maintaining them. I have 4 children who all live in California. Oldest daughter Vonnie, who with her husband Rick and 2 children own an engineering firm in Canyon Lake, Danney Jr. married to Susan, 2 children, a mortgage broker, Brad, married to Traci, 2 children, is a stock broker for AG Edwards in Del Mar, and Sheri who is a yoga trainer and massage therapist instructor in Berkeley. I am very proud of my kids and grandkids and love them very much.

My time now is mostly spent writing songs and performing with my western band and doing gospel concerts at churches of all sizes and denominations. In 1978 I ran for U. S representative in what was then the 37th congressional district ... and lost the race in the primary to a 4 term state assemblyman. I then "threw my hat into the ring" as a candidate for governor in 2002 because I thought I could offer Californians a different view of things. I see public service as a calling and I am willing to work as a volunteer for the citizens of California.

I believe there are good reasons why people don't get more involved in the process ... but we must find a way to cure this apathy ... the future of our democracy depends on it ... hand in hand we can and will turn things around. I love old cars, tractors, and motorcycles. Right now I have a 37 Chevrolet Panel truck that I would love to either restore or make into a street rod. I also have an old 32 Chevy 4 dr deluxe that I like to drive just the way it is. My cousin in Fresno builds Harleys and he just completed redoing a 1979 FLH for me in March of 2001. I have a Farmall B tractor which I am trading to a guy in Yuba City for a 1935 Farmall H-12. I will use this in parades during the senatorial campaign. I also have a Case DC and am looking for a 38 wide front unstyled John Deere and a Minneapolis Moline to complete my collection.

I'm a photographer and I collect vintage cameras and photographica. I like to enlarge and frame some of my better shots and give them to friends and family. I also love getting my hands in raw clay. I like to hand build ceramic art pieces as well as turn out pots on the wheel. Hope to have my own kiln some day. I love to read. I've never been much of a fan of fiction or novels though. My leisure time is spent right here on the internet, attending theatre productions in San Diego, or just taking a ride out into the beautiful country where I live here in The San Jacinto Valley. Politics has taken a lot of my time in the last couple of years. I love it and hope I can make some sort of difference in the process.

Los Angeles City College. Riverside City College. La Sierra College. Graduated Mt San Jacinto College 1972. Taught advertising at MSJC for one semester and music business seminars at RCC. I returned to study ceramic art (pottery) for 5 semesters at Palomar College in the 80's. I've got plenty of education. It doesn't take an MBA to understand the workings of government ... the problem comes when you try to tweak the system and make it more efficient ... but I've got a big foot ... and I don't mind using it to hold the door open until I've gotten my point across. I have worked in communications most of my life. That should be a help.

From an apprentice in lithography I worked my way into a supervisorial job at CBS owned KNXT in Los Angeles. After returning to school in Riverside at La Sierra College I served as a missionary worker for 5 years at the Southeastern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Upon graduating with honors at Mt San Jacinto College I entered the race for a spot on the college board of trustees. Then I designed and began to print Hemet Magazine, The Daily Calendar, and DBP International News Syndicate, which was a package of columns and cartoons we produced and shipped weekly, camera-ready, to newspapers around the world. It was during this time that I ran for the house of representatives in the then 37th congressional district.

I sold the businesses in the early 80s, invested in real estate and began writing music and producing albums of my Gospel and country songs in 1990. I believe that I have enough business background to communicate effectively with the media. Selecting a competent staff is important. My public speaking skills are good. I understand legal documents and how government works. I have represented myself in unlawful detainer actions here in the Mt San Jacinto Judicial district many times. I am running for statewide political office because I consider myself a visionery who has some good ideas and can do a better job than has been done in the recent past. I also have the patience, the work ethic, and the people skills to rally the troups. Nobody reforms bureauocracy alone. You don't turn a ship like you do an automobile. My plan as a United States Senator would be to choose my battles wisely.

A true leader must be able to forgo personal ambitions and look down the trail and prepare in advance for the future well-being of those he has signed on to represent. Part of the problem with any politician is that they become indebted to so many people that it may hamper the decision making process. Im going to try to keep this to a minimum by not focusing on getting contributions.

Ive heard it said that if you want a different result then you must try a different method to reach that goal. I will offer a different choice to my friends, relatives, neighbors, and to all of the people who share my love for our Golden State. I believe I have the ability to bring together a team of individuals who can lead California in a different direction. It seems it might be time for some new ideas. My priorities will be to reduce the number of housing starts till we can catch up with our schools, roads, and clean power supplies, to cut the overall state budget by 5%, and to eliminate or reduce several taxes, that are either too high or not needed at all.

My plans and goals are realistic even though there will be many who disagree. This will be my mandate from the voters if they choose to elect me. I am a divorced man with four successful grown children. I plan to remarry in the future when I find a lady who wants to be a partner to a guy who constantly mixes politics, religion and entertainment. For now, I am married to this statewide campaign, and I plan to represent the millions of unmarried and divorced citizens of California in a special and caring way.

My campaign slogan is. Think Outside The Boxer. My campaign will consist of the use of several advertising specialties such as buttons, brochures, signs, and volunteer cards. One of the things that might be considered different will be the use of my 37 ft. Tradewinds diesel motor caoch as my mobile campaign headquarters. I will be traveling throughout the state to as many communities in as many counties as I can get to in the time remaining before the primary. I plan to do interviews with local newspapers and radio stations, as well as TV stations where available. I will speak to GOP and other groups.

I will visit schools and churches also. When asked, I may even perform some of my music. One of my primary goals is to formulate a statewide team of volunteers. I will have a South, Mid, and North State coordinator and as much help working under them as we can muster. No person is telling me what to do or say. Every word here, in my speeches, and on my website is written by me. I travel alone in my mobile office so far. My hope is that what I am doing will catch on because it is right and credible.

My prayer is that, even though my candidacy is a long shot, I can be used not only to help the government process here in California, but that I can offer a new and better way of doing politics. Come home to a new California is more than just a slogan. It is an offer to get more comfortable with our leaders in Washington. It is a plan that I have to put a friendlier face on government ... and that face has to say in its smile - Hello! ... we can do this more efficiently ... and for a whole lot less money from you!
