InfoAmy R. Paulin, Democrat, was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She now lives in Scarsdale with her husband Ira Schuman and their three children, Beth, Sarah and Joseph. Amy holds a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York at Albany.

Assemblywoman Paulin was elected to the New York State Assembly in November, 2000. Her Assembly district (;ns88) encompasses the following Westchester communities: Village of Scarsdale, Town of Eastchester, Village of Tuckahoe, Village of Bronxville, the Villages of Pelham and Pelham Manor, City of Mt. Vernon (part), City of New Rochelle (part) and City of White Plains (part).

Amy Paulin's extensive record of community service and ability to work with a wide range of organizations has helped her make Westchester County a better place to live. She will now use her experience to represent the residents of the 88th Assembly District. She is succeeding Audrey Hochberg, and looks forward to carrying out the retired Assemblywoman's legacy of dedicated public advocacy.

Assemblywoman Paulin served for four years, 1995-1999, as a Scarsdale village trustee. She is a founder and former chair of the Westchester Women's Agenda, and she played an important role in helping to shape county policy, including establishing a Human Rights Commission. Amy served as the president of the Westchester League of Women Voters from 1992-1995, and served as vice president of the League of Women Voters of New York State, where she was in charge of the League's issue advocacy.

Amy has proven her commitment to the women and children of the district by helping to establish a Domestic Violence Council and obtaining vital funding for day care and neighborhood health centers. She most recently worked as the executive director of My Sisters' Place, a comprehensive agency serving battered women.

Currently, Amy is active in over 15 civic organizations, including the Westchester chapter of New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, the Scarsdale Arts Council, the Westchester County Legislative Committee on Families, the Westchester Children's Association, and the Westchester AIDS Council.
