Elected to the Montana Senate from the 32nd District in 1980.

Elected to the Montana Senate from the 44th District in 1984, 1988, 1992.

Elected to the Montana Senate from the 5th District in 1996.

Tom Keating was born in Langdon, ND on November 26, 1928. He graduated from Glasgow High School in 1946. Received an Honorable Discharge from the Air force in 1949. Earned a degree in Business Administration from Portland University. Tom is an Independent Petroleum Landman in Billings MT and has worked in the oil & gas exploration industry since 1954.

Tom was first elected to the State Senate in 1980 and served for 20 years in the state legislature. He was Vice-chair of finance & Claims and Chaired the Natural Resources and Labor committees at times during his service in the Legislature. He was also asked to serve in the State House of Representative. This experience and 14 years on the Legislative Audit committee provides a great deal of practice and knowledge of our state government.

He and his wife of 50 years raised 5 children aquiring 7 grandchildren.
