InfoChris moved to South Carolina with his wife, Teresa, after receiving his Honorable Discharge from the United States Air Force in 2002. He joined the nationally recognized green energy program at the University of South Carolina Chemical Engineering Department as a PhD candidate. while Teresa works at a source of pride for our community and a place she loves, Riverbanks Zoo.

Chris knew he would become active in his local chapter of the South Carolina Green Party after receiving his Honorable Discharge from the USAF, where his political activism matured, but was muted by the military. Powerful progressive movements require both the enormous energy, enthusiasm, and creativity of issue activists and a political force to give these ideals of social and economic justice, ecology, peace, and grassroots democracy authentic power to reshape the direction of our government, our country, and our state. As such, Chris has been actively involved in peace activism and voter registration around Columbia - putting these progressive values to real work - and he is running for South Carolina House District 71 on the Green Party ballot line.

Chris's campaign focuses on some of the urgent needs of South Carolina. Our nation and our state is in a health care crisis, and a single payer solution will provide more health care and better health care for less money than our current runaway bureaucracy. The minimum wage has not gone up since 1997, yet failed CEO remuneration packages have increased by over 400% over the same time. South Carolina is fast becoming the dumping ground for the nation's hazardous and radioactive waste. Oil Peak, the dwindling supply of cheap oil and fossil fuels, must be addressed with a serious dialog, and Herculean efforts (job creating efforts) must be made to convert our fossil fuel economy into sustainable, green energy economy. Finally, the erosion of our civil liberties, the attacks on the Bill of Rights, the enforcement of the Patriot Act, the racist death penalty, the wasteful and ridiculous drug wars, and private prison construction MUST STOP NOW
