Info | Peter Fonseca was elected to the Ontario Legislature in 2003.
Peter was a Senior Performance Management Consultant for the Coach Corporation, where he delivered a highly successful strategic planning and human resources program for businesses and professionals called PeoplePATH.
During the 1990s he was Canada's leading marathon runner and he represented Canada in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. He launched a successful importing and distributing company in Portugal while training for the Olympics.
Among his youth and community projects, Peter developed the Youth for Youth Leadership Program in the Peel-Halton-Dufferin region that helps disenfranchised youth find a career path. He has been a spokesperson for Clean Air Champions, an organization that links athletes with events and programs to promote better air quality and healthy lifestyles. He was a member of Team 2008, a group of athletes committed to Toronto's Olympic bid.
Peter was born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1966. He immigrated to Canada with his parents in 1968 and grew up in Toronto's "Little Italy" and "Little Portugal." After graduating from St. Michael's College, he attended the University of Oregon on an athletic scholarship, where he majored in English and History. He also holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Windsor.
