"Ernesto Lopez was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Delaware when he was two years old and grew up in Newark. He attended Wilmington Christian School in Hockessin and then graduated from Gettysburg College with a Bachelors degree in 1998. In 2002, he received a Masters degree from the University of Delaware, where he now works as the Associate Director of Admissions and Coordinator of Multi-cultural recruitment. Lopez volunteers as a mentor at Downes Elementary School and taught English as a second language at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Fairfax, where he is a member. He also volunteers at the Latin American Community Center. He and his wife Janis, also serve on the committee for the annual Blue-Gold High School All Star Football Game. He is a resident of the Oaklands in Newark."
