InfoKhalil Ramal was elected in October 2003 to represent the riding of London-Fanshawe in the Ontario Legislature. He presently serves the Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Social Policy and is a member of the Standing Committee on Regulations and Private Members Business and the Education Policy Committee of Cabinet.

Khalil has taught elementary and secondary school, and also founded an educational television and radio station. He has been an independent publisher and has worked with various community groups. He spent several years on staff at the Oxford Regional Centre in Woodstock with the Ministry of Social and Community Services, working with developmentally challenged individuals.

He received his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, a Master’s degree in Social Politics and a diploma in Union Movements, all from The Lebanese University. He also received a diploma in Accounting from the Zelda Institute and a teacher's diploma from the Lebanon Ministry of Education. He recently earned his PhD in Social Politics.

As President of Ramal Marketing, (Valley Farm Market), Khalil has 13 years experience as a small business owner that served the people of the London-Fanshawe community.

Born in a small town in Lebanon in 1960, Khalil is fluent in English, Arabic, French and Spanish. He has lived in London for 18 years where he and his wife, Nisrine, have a son named Jawad.
