Doug Gross has also been an advisor to numerous Republican candidates for office in Iowa and was co-chair of President George Bush's finance effort in Iowa.

Born and raised on a farm and in the small town of Defiance, he was the fourth child in a family of ten. He received his bachelor's degree from Iowa Wesleyan College in 1977 and his law degree from Drake University in 1985.

Doug's career background includes service as Chief of Staff to former Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, Director of Business and Finance at the Iowa State Board of Regents, Administrative Assistant to former Iowa Governor Robert Ray, Director of the Fuels Division of the Iowa Energy Policy Council, Chief Legislative Assistant and Campaign Co-Manager for Congressman Tom Tauke, and Legislative Field Director for the Iowa Republican Party.

Doug and his wife, Eileen, have been married 23 years. They have five children, ranging in age from 13 to 22. Doug is a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He has coached youth sports for many years. He also owns and operates a farm south of Winterset, Iowa.
