InfoIrvin B. Tucker was a Whiteville attorney and occasional Republican candidate for various offices in North Carolina. He was born in Winson-Salem on 9/17/1878, a son of Francis A. and Nannie E. Tucker. He graduated from NC State, then earned a law degree from UNC-CH in 1900. After being admitted to the bar in 1901, he settled in Whiteville. Tucker served as supervisor of the sixth NC district for the US Census in 1910. During World War I, Tucker was the chairman of the Columbus County draft board.

Tucker's political career began with his service as Mayor of Whiteville from 1915-1916. He was appointed a US District Attorney in 1921 and served until 1930, when he resigned to take a position on the U.S. Board of Paroles in Washington DC (1930-1935). Tucker was a delegate to the Republican National Conventions in 1916, 1920, and 1932.

Tucker died in Whiteville on 12/23/1943.
