InfoEric Arner and the Green Party of Ontario will ensure that every Thunder Bay—Atikokan resident has an affordable, safe place to live and a thriving green economy.

As a high school teacher, Eric has seen the damaging legacy to Ontario’s education system left by previous governments. With mental health issues and learning gaps exacerbated by the pandemic, Eric knows that Ontarians need and deserve more funding for education — not $1.2 billion in budget cuts. Our education system’s hard working students, families, and staff deserve better, and Eric will ensure that voices are heard.

Growing up as the fifth generation on a family farm in Southwestern Ontario, Eric has a deep connection with the farmlands and forests of this great province, which he intends to preserve and protect. After a decade calling Northwestern Ontario home, he shares the grave concerns his neighbours have about the future of their communities, including the costs of heating, commuting, and food.

Eric empathizes with the financial pinch, but he knows the Greens have a plan to make life affordable while protecting the environment. New affordable housing, retrofits for older housing, and huge rebates on electric vehicles will make it possible to remove the expense of the pump from Ontario entirely.

A steadfast humanitarian, Eric strives to help others with every action he takes. He is honoured to run for the Greens in Thunder Bay—Atikokan and stand behind Mike Schreiner to provide the leadership we need to build the Ontario we want.
