Christian Church from 1923 until elected to Congress; elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-third, Seventy-fourth, and Seventy-fifth Congresses and served from March 4, 1933, until his death in Washington, D.C., February 28, 1937; interment in Santa Maria Cemetery, Santa Maria, Calif.
