InfoChristopher P. St. Lawrence, a lifelong Rockland County resident who was born and raised in Suffern, has been the Supervisor of the Town of Ramapo since December 2000. After initially being appointed to the office, Mr. St. Lawrence was elected in 2001 and overwhelmingly re-elected in 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2009. As Supervisor of the largest and most diverse town in Rockland, Mr. St. Lawrence has established a reputation as a hardworking and progressive leader who has initiated innovative programs that have improved the quality of life for Ramapo residents.

Supervisor St. Lawrence has successfully held the line on property taxes and strengthened the Town’s finances, preserved thousands of acres of open space, protected the environment, enhanced Ramapo’s parks and recreation programs, worked with local law enforcement to make Ramapo the safest town in America, improved our roads, installed new sidewalks, and fought the rate hike proposals that would have increased Ramapo residents’ monthly utility bills.

Supervisor St. Lawrence has also focused on celebrating Ramapo’s ethnic diversity through the Town’s unique Twinning Programs, Heritage Nights, and the Ramapo Council of United Americans.

In addition to his duties as Town Supervisor, Mr. St. Lawrence currently serves as Chairman of the Rockland County Solid Waste Management Authority and is Vice Chairman of the Rockland County Sewer District #1.

Prior to becoming Supervisor, Mr. St. Lawrence served two terms on the Rockland County Legislature. Before holding elective office, Mr. St. Lawrence was a brokerage principal in the National Association of Security Dealers. He also has a distinguished record in athletics and excelled at track, basketball and football.

Supervisor St. Lawrence and his wife, Nanci, live in Wesley Hills. Mrs. St. Lawrence has been a teacher in the Ramapo Central School District for over 30 years, and currently teaches at Suffern Middle School where she is involved with Project Kids. The St. Lawrence’s have three children: Christopher, who is a graduate of Villanova University; Meredith, who is a graduate of Vanderbilt University; and Elizabeth, who attends the University of Maryland.

St. Lawrence, was a New York State Assemblyman, a Rockland County Legislator, the Rockland County Treasurer and a Ramapo Councilman. Prior to serving in elective office, he was the Athletic Director at Suffern High School. His mother, Marguerite, served as Director of Development and Public Relations at Good Samaritan Hospital for decades and continues to serve in a volunteer capacity.
