The most rewarding experiences are those that center around the respect and concern for the needs of others. Bob Dutton learned this early in his life, and has made it the cornerstone of his commitment to community service.

Growing up in Lincoln, Nebraska, Bob developed an appreciation for the simple things in life. Spending time with his grandfather, who had been involved with the Conservation Corps, he also came to love the outdoors. These values are still a principal part of Bob's life, and have served as the foundation for his "common sense" approach that he has found to work best when working with people and when making decisions.

In 1969, Bob enlisted in the Army Reserve. Later that year, attracted by the promise of opportunity, he moved to California, continuing his service as a member of the California Air National Guard, and was honorably discharged in 1974.

In 1970, Bob enrolled at Los Angeles Valley College in their Associate of Arts program, majoring in real estate. After graduation in 1972 he formed a real estate investment firm with his father. It was while a student at LAVC that he began his commitment to public service, successfully running for Student Body Association President. He was reelected to an unprecedented second term. Sharing with his father the philosophy that he should give back to the community in which he worked and lived, Bob joined the Kiwanis while still a student at LAVC, and in 1976 became president of his local club.

In 1978 Bob moved to Rancho Cucamonga, a City that showed a great deal of promise with a vision to do things right. He met his wife Andrea Guillen, a 4th generation Chino resident, and was married in 1981. The other love of his life, their daughter Kara, was born a year later in 1982. The values Bob learned early on have served him well as a husband, father, and as a public servant. He understands the importance of setting the right example for our children, and also that it is important to help them understand how to deal with both the good and the bad that life has to offer.

Bob Dutton is one of those individuals who, in so many ways, prove to be a valuable asset to the community in which they live. Leading by example, Bob has served on numerous community and civic organizations, demonstrating his compassion for people and a commitment to helping them realize their hopes and dreams. A partial list of those organizations would include...
