9. Nancy and her family moved back to the USA in 1983.

10. Then Nancys life took a turn for the worse. In 1984 her brother-in-law had an argument with Nancy about her religious beliefs, and made fraudulent claims against Nancy and her family to HRS. The result was the Department of Children and Families (DCF) taking away all 4 of her children (aged: 2,4,6,9) and a corrupt judge, James Parker, Baker acted both Nancy and her husband and they were both thrown into a psychiatric hospital. When Nancy was released from the hospital one month later, the hospital staff and chief examining doctor testified before a judge that she was not crazy, completely harmless and would never hurt a fly. DCF also lost track of Nancys husband and he vanished. Furthermore, Nancys children were scheduled to be put up for adoption against Nancys will. Even though the state-ordered psychiatric exam testified the fact that she was completely harmless, DCF still insisted that her children were in grave danger. They lied to save their jobs.
The Coalition For Religious Freedom discovered Nancys fight for her children in 1985, and provided her with free legal counsel, and even shot a TV documentary that was advertised in TV Guide. The documentary went on national TV. The very next day after the airing of the show (8 months after taking Nancys children away), the very same corrupt judge (James Parker) who had Nancy and her husband declared crazy with no proof or basis of judgment, released all four of her children back into her custody but not without strings attached. Nancy had to agree to allow the DCF to visit her home every week for one year to make sure the home was safe for her children. They were still insistent that the children were being abused, even though they NEVER found any abuse during the entire year of harassing visits to the Grant home.
Although most of Arcadias local newspapers refused to provide any news coverage of Nancys plight, The Venice Gondolier Newspaper, provided full story coverage in 1985. During this whole ordeal DCF lost track of Nancys husband. The Social Security department could not even find him.
11. In 1985 Nancy filed for divorce from her husband on grounds of desertion.

12. Nancy and her 4 children lived on welfare from 1986-1991.

13. 1991 ushered in a further investigation by the Social Security department into Nancys husbands disappearance and he was never found. Based on their presumption that he might be dead, Nancy was counseled into having him declared legally dead.

14. 1991 Nancy worked as a Dental Assistant. But the workload at the job required her to also manage the dental office.

15. 1991-1993 Worked as a business manager for the dental office.

16. 1993 Nancy married her boss, Dr. L.A. Fusco.

17. 3 weeks after her 2nd marriage, her 1st husband was found alive. The result was the Social Security department demanding recompensation for financial support of Nancys 4 children over 5 years of payments. The total demanded was $27,000 dollars to be paid back in full in 30 days. ($27,000 divided by 4 = approx $6750 per child).

18. To protect his assets, both Nancy and her 2nd husband filed for divorce. The National Enquirer provided media coverage over these new developments. (1993)

19. Shortly after the National Enquirer published their story, the Social Security department dropped their demands of recompensation. (1993)

20. 1993, Nancy started a sole proprietorship in Shetland Pony Rides for children. She also became an expert breeder in Ponies. She currently owns 35 ponies, and 3 stallions. Nancys family (sisters, brothers, father, etc.) own 60 + acres of ranch land.

21. 1999-2000 Nancy closed down her Pony business and jumped into the political arena by running for State Rep., district 72, winning 35 % of the votes.

22. 2000 Nancy established The National Christian Party, a minor political party for Christians nationwide. Nancy says that in order for The National Christian Party to become a major political party in Florida is to gather just 5 % of registered Florida voters signatures (approx. 450,000).

23. In October 2000, Nancy became the first candidate in Florida to announce her running for Governor of Florida at Brevard Community College. Announcement published in the DeSoto Sun-Herald newspaper.
