Infon November of 2000 and 2002, by a wide margin of votes, Fran Pavley was elected to the State Assembly. She has quickly gained a reputation as one of the brightest and most highly-respected members of the Assembly. Her skills in working with her colleagues on both sides of the aisle are well known and have made her exceptionally effective in representing the needs of the people of the 41st Assembly District.

Assemblymember Pavley has been appointed to a number of influential leadership posts including:

* Chair, Select Committee Air and Water Quality
* Chair, Select Committee on Hydrogen and Other Alternative feuls.

She is also a member of a number of key policy committees including:

In July, 2002, Governor Gray Davis signed into law Assemblymember Fran Pavley's historic bill to reduce green house gas emissions from automobiles.

FORMER MAYOR AND EDUCATOR
In 1982, at age 33, Fran Pavley ran for public office and was elected the first, youngest, and ultimately four-time Mayor of the newly incorporated City of Agoura Hills. She was also selected to serve as President of the Los Angeles County Division of the League of California Cities. She holds a California teaching credential, and taught history and government in middle school for 25 years.

PAVLEY FAMILY
Assemblymember Fran Pavley.s husband Andy is a public school teacher. Their son David is a developmentally disabled adult, who is involved in a local work training program. Their daughter Jenny is a professional beach volleyball player and a firefighter with the City of Long Beach.
