InfoMichael Boyer was born in 1972 to Samuel and Karen Boyer in Salt Lake City, Utah. Growing up, Michael ran cross-country, enjoyed skiing, was active in student government, and would play Ms. Pac Man using the money he would earn mowing his neighbors' lawns. Michael served a humanitarian and proselyting mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Austria, Croatia, Ljubljana, and Slovenia. Upon returning from Europe, Michael attended Salt Lake Community College and was set up on a blind date with Tara, a young woman from Colorado who would later become his wife. Following their marriage, Michael moved to Colorado and the couple bought a house in Brighton, Colorado. Soon Michael found employment at Metalwest where he worked as the Human Resources Development Coordinator during the day and attended classes at Colorado State University at night. After 3 years of marriage, Tara and Michael gave birth to their first child, Maddi, who passed away shortly thereafter. Michael was quickly promoted to Human Resource Manager and then to Safety Director in the span of a couple years, while simultaneously serving on the Adams County Workforce Investment Board. A year after the passing of their daughter, Tara and Michael gave birth to their first son, Taylor, and, shortly thereafter, moved to Fort Lupton where Michael would serve as a volunteer firefighter for 10 years. With the addition of two more children - Claire and Paige - the family of 5 quickly outgrew the Front Range and moved to Tara's parents' dairy farm in Weld County for several years, before finally settling in Morgan County, where they've lived since 2009. Since moving to Morgan County, Michael has been employed as the Director of Human Resources for the City of Fort Morgan, and has worked in the same capacity for Morgan County School District RE-3 and Jeffco Public Schools. Michael has had the opportunity to serve and engage with his community through his service on various boards and charitable organizations. Michael has previously served as the Treasurer of the Fort Morgan Lions Club, the President of Morgan County United Way, as well as the President of the Colorado Association of School Personnel Administrators (CASPA). Michael enjoys running, skiing, landscaping, camping, and playing card games with his family (even though he seldom wins). Michael now also admits that Colorado - not Utah - has the greatest snow on earth.
