| Info | Aizar Cavazos, the son of Ramiro and Emma Cavazos, was born and raised in Weslaco, Texas. Cavazos learned the value of hard work and dedication to duty early on in life, working on the family ranch, fixing fences, bailing hay, and feeding cattle.
After graduating from high school in 1981, Cavazos attended the University of Texas at Austin and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Government in 1985.
After working a few years in the Rio Grande Valley, Cavazos found his calling for public service and federal law enforcement, graduating from the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Glynco, Georgia in 1994.
Throughout his distinguished career as a federal agent, Cavazos worked tirelessly to protect America from terrorists, MS-13 gangs, and from the scourge of human and narcotics trafficking.
Cavazos held a variety of critical Border Patrol positions in California, Arizona, Texas, and at the U.S. Border Patrol Headquarters in Washington, DC, where he attained a Top Secret Security Clearance.
In 2016, Cavazos accepted a non-uniform U.S. Border Patrol temporary duty assignment (TDY) in Chiapas, Mexico, working closely with Mexican Immigration Officials, providing training, and conducting detainee interviews in coordination with the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City. After serving almost 25 years of federal service, Cavazos retired in 2018.
Cavazos understands that our Constitution, our freedom, and our liberties are currently under attack by this administration and the progressive left agenda. As your Congressman, Cavazos will fight for all Texas District-15 constituents and will never apologize for putting the interests of the America people first!
Cavazos resides in Edinburg, Texas with his wife and four children.
