Info | Dan is a practicing attorney at a downtown Boulder law firm. He has represented businesses and individuals throughout Boulder and the State of Colorado. At no cost or low cost, he also maintains an active practice taking on civil rights and civil liberties cases and representing people who couldn’t otherwise afford access to counsel. Before becoming an attorney, Dan served as an advisor at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, working on welfare policy and community development programs. Dan has served on the Boards of Directors of diverse organizations such as Growing Gardens, Better Boulder, and the ACLU of Colorado.
Dan and his wife, Mary Faltynski, moved their family to Boulder from Washington D.C. to live in a progressive community with a laid-back vibe in an area rich in natural beauty. Now, nearly 15 years later, their two sons have graduated Boulder High School and both are off to college on opposite coasts. Dan and Mary are regulars on Boulder’s hiking trails with their dog, Yonder. They love biking, downhill and Nordic skiing, and otherwise enjoy the outdoor lifestyle that living in this magical community allows.
Dan is running for Boulder City Council because Boulder should be for all of us. On Council, his guiding principles will be whether each decision makes it easier or harder for all of us to live, work, and play in Boulder; whether each decision promotes social justice; and whether each decision advances our response to the climate emergency.
