| Info | Chris Mann has dedicated his life to serving and protecting Kansas communities – first as a police officer and then as a prosecutor. He is running for attorney general to focus on law enforcement, not politics. Chris will defend the Constitution, protect the rule of law and ensure Kansas families are safe.
Chris knew from an early age he wanted to serve his community. In college, he decided that meant a career in law enforcement, like his father. And by 21 years old, he realized this dream, became a police officer his junior year in college and then graduated from the University of Kansas soon after.
As an officer, Chris saw the tragedy of drunk driving firsthand while responding to accidents and arresting DUI offenders. And, it forever changed his life when he was struck by a drunk driver during a routine traffic stop. As a result of his injuries, the crash ended his career in uniform.
After enduring years of intense physical therapy and battling the emotional toll of his injuries, Chris realized he could continue to fight crime as an attorney in the courtroom. His courage and determination took him to law school on a full ride Koch Public Service Scholarship at Washburn University Law School.
Chris went on to become a prosecutor in the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office. He prosecuted a broad range of cases from DUI to murder. During this time, Chris began volunteering with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and served as the Kansas Advisory Board Chair in 2011.
