InfoJohn Capobianco, 40, has devoted a lifetime building local knowledge and community ties in Etobicoke that reach back to his birth at Queensway Hospital (now part of the Trillium Health Centre).

John already is a passionate advocate for our community, determined to dedicate his career goals to being a forceful and influential voice for Etobicoke in Ottawa, serving the hardworking people who reside in Etobicoke-Lakeshore. A proud, first-generation Canadian, John is often heard recounting how, “My parents came to this country because they saw a nation that rewarded hard work and where honest people of all backgrounds had equal opportunity to build a future of prosperity for themselves and their children.”

John’s community involvement began as a student at Norseman Middle School and at both Alderwood and Lakeshore Collegiate Institutes. Today, John serves as a member of the Etobicoke Rotary Club, is a past member of both the Community Advisory Panel for the Trillium Health Centre and the board of the Etobicoke Community Care Access Centre, and is an active member of the Etobicoke Chamber of Commerce.

Since the last majority government in Canada became a minority in 2004, you probably have seen John on the streets of Etobicoke or attending local events. John spent most of the summer meeting as many people as possible at businesses, in coffee shops, at the hugely successful Rotary Rib-Fest, at the Polish and Ukrainian Festivals, the Feast of St. Anthony at Holy Angels, and the Taste of the Kingsway, to name a few.

John often has been seen eloquently voicing his strong beliefs in a government that is committed to political accountability on CBC’s ‘Politics’ program, TVO’s ‘Fourth Estate’, and Michael Coren Live. As well, John is regularly sought out to comment on issues of current public debate by the Etobicoke Guardian, the Globe & Mail, the National Post, The Toronto Star, the Toronto Sun, and the leading multicultural media outlets.

John is well prepared to be Etobicoke’s voice in Ottawa. Through hard work and dedication, John has built a successful business career and understands the importance of governments that provide ways for working people to keep more of their hard-earned money. From a part-time summer job at Garlock Gasket Factory, John has worked his way up to become a Vice-President and Group Leader for one of Canada’s largest and best known strategic consulting firms, Hill & Knowlton.

John earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics at York University. He has acquired his political stripes over may years in the trenches of Conservative Party campaigns, and ran as the Conservative Party standard bearer for Etobicoke-Lakeshore in 2004, garnering the largest plurality of any Conservative candidate in Toronto.

John Capobianco is the proud husband to Michelle and father of 3-year old Isabella.
