InfoDr. Gary Goodyear was first elected to the House of Commons in 2004. Prior to entering Parliament, Dr. Goodyear spent 20 years as a practicing chiropractor in Cambridge, Ontario.

Dr. Goodyear grew up in Cambridge, and worked his way through university as a meat packer, laborer and janitor. He obtained his undergraduate education at the University of Waterloo. He then attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, where he graduated Cum Laude, was class president, and valedictorian. Dr. Goodyear augments his chiropractic practice with post-graduate fellowships, teaching posts and contributions to the profession’s governing bodies.

Dr. Goodyear has frequently appeared in news media, discussing trauma, healing, and parliamentary reform. From 1986 to 1996, he was Health Columnist for the Cambridge Times. He also researches and advises investment firms on opportunities in the biomedical sector.

Garry Goodyear and his wife, Valerie Pinkerton, have two children. He enjoys scuba diving, writing and rebuilding motorcycles.
