Businessman
Art Langlie is a community advocate and business leader with a vision for rebuilding a compassionate and innovative Seattle for everyone. A Seattle native, Art is a political independent and centrist focused on developing collaborative, interdisciplinary partnerships that bring together diverse thinkers and doers for a common purpose. Art believes that the same approach is essential to creating a big-thinking and inclusive city that’s ready to embrace the opportunities of the next decade.
Professionally, Art is a proven executive in the construction business and led organizational turnarounds for Turner Construction, Lease Crutcher Lewis, and Cochran, among others. With the same passion and tenacity, Art has served on the advisory boards of the Salvation Army Northwest Division and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and on the boards of directors for both ArtsFund and Intiman Theater.
Art is the father to two sons (Arthur & Ted) and two Portuguese Water Dogs (DeHavilland. & Jackson), a floatplane pilot, and a lover of live music. He is the grandson of Arthur B. Langlie, Mayor of Seattle from 1938 to 1941, and Washington’s first three-term governor from 1940 to 1944 and 1948 to 1956.
