� Rebecca Blaikie was born in 1978 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and grew up in the Winnipeg neighborhood of Transcona.
� She graduated from french immersion at College Pierre Eliott Trudeau in 1996, where she served as Vice President in her final year. Throughout her time as a student she was active in the NDP and on local environmental issues. She was also an active member of her congregation at Transcona Memorial United Church.
� After graduating, she went on to complete her B.A. Honours in History at the University of Winnipeg, in which she Concentrated on Canadian Social History and the effects of gender, class and ethnicity on that history and it's interpretation. The third year of her degree was taken at Universite Laval in Quebec City.
� University student she worked as a guide at Vimy Ridge in France, at The Manitoba Legislative Building and at the Canadian Parliament. In September of 2001 she moved to Ottawa to take a job as an Interpretation Officer with the Library of Parliament. In the spring of 2003 she left to teach English in Taiwan for the summer.
� She moved to Montreal in September. Most recently she was a graduate student of the School of Community and Public Affairs.
She now works full time as Grants and Fundraising Coordinator with the People's Potato Project Collective.
