| Info | Second Candidate Announces for DeKalb's 2nd Ward
Wesley Hoadley has announced he will be running for the position of Second Ward councilmember in DeKalb. Hoadley is a long time DeKalb resident and former Police Officer.
He has worked in Law Enforcement for over 35 years, retiring from DeKalb Police Department as Deputy Police Chief. Hoadley has a Bachelor of Arts from Aurora University. He has been active in the community, being a Knight of Columbus and Elks member. Hoadley sat on the board of the DeKalb County Credit Union for 14 years and served as Chairman for the last few years. Over the course of these years, he helped coordinate fundraisers for Special Olympics, Make-a-Wish foundation as well as being active with the DeKalb Police Benevolent & Protective Association.
"I've been serving the citizens of the DeKalb area for many years and I think with my broad background I can continue to serve them as an Alderman," commented Hoadley. "I feel strongly that we need to keep promoting Economic Development, and to continue to be fiscally responsible to the citizens to keep taxes low and still providing the services our citizens expect."
Hoadley has been married for 40 years to his wife Lori, who graduated from NIU Law School and is now an Attorney, They have two daughters who attended DeKalb Schools and also graduated from NIU. The Hoadleys have lived in the DeKalb community for over 35 years and both Wes and Lori grew up a few miles south of DeKalb.
Hoadley will be filing his paperwork on Monday and will be providing information for people to contact him regarding support for his candidacy.
