Graduated with a B.A. (Hon) in Romance Studied from the University of British Columbia in 2004. Worked throughout Europe and Canada. Jobs have ranged from forestry, social services, and tourism and most recently as an independent contractor in the information technology field.
Having been able to experience different cultures and different forms of democracy instilled an interest in the functioning of governments and the manner in which an electorate interacts with it?s elected officials. This interest naturally goes hand in hand with a great curiosity in the functioning of economies of various scales.
Democratic reforms, including greater accountability on the part of elected officials and government in general, as well as a greater ability for popular initiative are fundamental to an ongoing and vibrant Canadian democracy. Education in civics and greater government transparency are seen as corner stones of the creation of a stronger and better nation.
If Canada wants to continue calling itself a democracy The Canadian People must ensure their ability to tell the government what to do, and not vice-versa.
