|Info||Born in 1966, Dr. Kennedy Stewart grew up in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Kennedy moved to Vancouver in 1988 to pursue a career in music, winning three 1991 West Coast Music Awards. |
After a stint as a printing press operator, Kennedy worked as an at-risk youth advocate. He obtained a Master's degree in Political Science at Simon Fraser University and in 1997 began a Doctorate in Government at the London School of Economics. While in England, he served as director of the University of London's prestigious Public Policy/Public Management Program.
In 2002 Kennedy returned to Vancouver to serve as a tenuretrack Assistant Professor in SFU's Flagship Public Policy Program. Completing his PhD in 2003, he has published and commented on democracy and government accountability, recently helping organize Think City's highly successful Think Democracy series of public forums.
Kennedy lives downtown, teaches at SFU�s Harbour Centre Campus and hasn�t owned a car for over a decade.
