Info | "I am a health-care worker, a cook and food-service worker at both St. Joseph's General Hospital and Glacier View Lodge in Comox. I have worked in health care for almost 20 years and am actively involved in the fight against privatization and the attacks on health-care workers and our unions by both the federal and provincial governments. Health care is a right, alongside education, housing and all an individual needs from society. It is the responsibility of government to provide these rights with a guarantee. Instead we see arbitrariness and lawlessness from government as a cover for handing over all the resources of the society, including social programs, education and health care, to the rich. The problem is not affordability. The problem is that the working class and people are excluded from all the decisions that affect our lives, in terms of the economy, social issues and national and foreign policy. The aim of the working class cannot be to influence the decision-makers. We must BECOME the decision-makers."
