InfoFine Gael Senator Paschal Donohoe will be hoping to win Fine Gael's first seat in Dublin Central since Jim Mitchell's election in 1997. The former sales and marketing manager came close in the constituency's 2009 by-election when he finished second to Maureen O'Sullivan with over 22 per cent of first-preference votes. Donohoe has served as a member of the Seanad since his election by the Administrative Panel in 2007.
