| Info | David Chernushenko, 42, is owner and president of Green & Gold Inc., an independent business that provides strategic advice to private and public organizations. He has advised governments and companies on how to use sustainable management practices, resource efficiency and cleaner production to save money and create new opportunities. He is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) "green building" professional.
David is also founder of Clean Air Champions, a national clean air and fitness advocacy group. He served on the International Olympic Committee's advisory Commission on Sport and the Environment from 1998-2005.
David has written three books on practicing sustainable development (translated into five languages) and is a frequent speaker locally, nationally and internationally on how to promote healthier and more vibrant economies and communities.
Fluent in English and French, he has a BA in Political Studies from Queen's University and a Master's in International Relations from Cambridge University.
Married with two school-aged children, David has lived in Ottawa Centre for 12 years and in the Ottawa region for more than 20 years. He has traveled extensively in Canada and internationally, living in Finland, Malaysia, Lebanon, Japan, England and Australia.
As a candidate in the 2004 federal election he earned the endorsement of the Ottawa Citizen editorial board, and received over 4700 votes.
