Info | PERSONAL: Abby Freedman is a native of East Brunswick, New Jersey. A resident of Parkland, she is married to Dr. Alan Freedman and is the mother of three children, Beau, Jarrod and Harrison, who attend Broward County Public Schools.
EDUCATION: Abby Freedman graduated from East Brunswick High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida. She also earned a Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law and completed Elementary Education coursework at Florida Atlantic University.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Abby Freedman was a certified elementary and religious school teacher. She has worked as a financial officer and budget coordinator. She has also served as a legal intern for the Pentagon.
COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP: Abby Freedman is an advocate for all children and has been a parent/volunteer activist in Broward County Public Schools for many years. She consistently lends her time, expertise and support to teachers, administrators and students. She is a founding member of Not My Daughter…find a cure now, an organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. She has been a key contributor to major fundraising efforts on behalf of Temple Beth Am, Congregation Kol Tikvah and District 4 schools. She supports JAFCO (Jewish Adoption Foster Care Options), serving as a Godparent to many children to guarantee them a safe environment. She is also a lifelong member of Hadassh, an organization that helps children in need and provides worldwide humanitarian aid.
