InfoPERSONAL: Jennifer is a product of Broward County public schools. She attended kindergarten through high school, and is a proud Nova High School graduate. Married to Kenneth Gottlieb, former Florida State Representative, and mother of two young sons who attend Broward County public schools.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Nova Southeastern University with a degree in Elementary Education, specializing in Early Childhood.

COMMUNITY/SCHOOL INVOLVEMENT: Elected as a Countywide School Board member in September of 2006, Jennifer currently represents the School Board members on the following committees: Broward Education Foundation Board of Directors; Broward League of Cities co-representative; Early Learning Coalition (alternate); Museum of Discovery & Science (alternate). Jennifer was awarded by the Florida Jaycees (Florida Junior Chamber) Outstanding Young Educator of the Year for 2006.

The Jaycees 2006 Florida Junior Chamber presented Jennifer with the Ralph M. Williams, Jr. Memorial Award for “Outstanding Young Educator”.

March, 2006 honored as the recipient of the “Leadership in Education Award” presented by the Chabad of South Broward.

March 2007 - nominated by the Florida School Boards Association (FSBA) and appointed by Jeannine Blomberg, Commissioner of Education, to serve on the K-12 Reading Adoption State Instructional Materials Committee (SIMC). The Committee rigorously reviews and evaluates submitted materials and makes recommendations for adoption to the Commissioner of Education. Jennifer represents the curricular needs of students and teachers throughout the State of Florida on behalf of all school board members, not solely for the Broward County School District.
