InfoI worked for Aurora Public Schools as the Chief Accountability and Research Officer. I worked with the local board and superintendent on how to apply data and assessment issues. This work also involved charter school authorizing and innovation zone development. I saw first hand how the corporate charter system worked to privatize our public schools. This is why I have pledged that I will never vote for the privatization of our public schools.

I’ve taught English language development courses for masters-level students at Regis University, which means I have been in the classroom from Kindergarten to Masters Students. These experiences give me a unique toolkit to address the problems facing all of Colorado’s students, while prioritizing our most vulnerable students needs. As we continue into the 21st century, it’s important that our students, their families, and our educators have strong advocates at every level of government who will push for transparency, equitable education, and more resources and support.

We must have working relationships and hard conversations to make effective change happen in Colorado. After a 36 year career in education I have the knowledge, the understanding, and the passion to make that change happen.
